Thank You to Our Heroes!

This morning I saw my partner and fiancée cry as she watched a video with clips of hospital frontline workers fighting for their patient’s lives. She told me she can’t even comprehend why these healthcare staff can continue what they do day after day. Like, money is okay, but no money is enough to put your life at risk and sacrifice your precious time with your own family. But you know, it makes sense. People in healthcare didn’t sign up for this mess. They didn’t sign up to watch a person deteriorate in front of their eyes. They signed up because they have so much love to give that this was the only way to give it. They give their time, comfort, and most of all their life. I tried to even reason and say, maybe over time they become desensitized to people’s deaths and pain. But I know for a fact each patient saved, makes their love and sacrifice worth it.
